Basseterre, St. Kitts, 8th September, 2018 (MyVueNews.com) – Caribbean meteorologists are monitoring Tropical Depression #9, west of the Cabo Verde Islands and moving westward toward the Caribbean.
TD#9 is forecasted to become a hurricane sometime on Monday and will then carry the name Isaac.
It is expected to be impacted by wind shear, as it nears the islands. Therefore, the prognosis is that it will enter the Eastern Caribbean as a high Cat 1 hurricane, or a low Cat 2 hurricane.
For now, potential landfall is in the middle of the Eastern Caribbean, reports Caribbean Hurricane Network.
As of 11 am today, TD#9 was located 14.6°N 36.0°W, moving WNW at 6 mph. Its minimum pressure is at 1007 mb and maximum sustained winds are at 35 mph.
