“The Voice” is expanding its celebrity coaching roster with the addition of Nick Jonas, one-third of the multiplatinum Jonas Brothers band.

Jonas, 27, will join returning coaches and fellow music stars Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton for next spring’s edition of NBC’s popular singing competition. Host Carson Daly also returns.

The current season of “The Voice” (Monday and Tuesday, 8 EDT/PDT), which features coaches Clarkson, Legend, Shelton and Gwen Stefani, is in the blind-auditions phase.

Jonas, who is married to actress Priyanka Chopra, announced his new gig during Monday’s taping of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which will air Tuesday.

He appeared on “Ellen” with his brothers, Joe and Kevin, to promote the latest Jonas Brothers album collaboration, “Happiness Begins,” and its current single, “Only Human.” His future coaching collaborators welcomed him via video, with Nick Jonas responding to Shelton’s trash talk with a little of his own.

“I’m so excited to be a part of ‘The Voice’ family,” Jonas said in a statement included in NBC’s Monday announcement. “It’s such an awesome group of individuals, and I can’t wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices.”

NBC Entertainment alternative programming chief Meredith Ahr said Jonas stood out during his time on “Songland,” a songwriting competition broadcast on NBC during the summer.

“We were so impressed by his innate musicality, technical aptitude and passion … and know he will be an incredible fit as a coach on ‘The Voice,’” she said.

Besides his work with the Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas is a solo music artist and he co-wrote a Golden Globe-nominated song for the animated film “Ferdinand.”

Jonas also is an actor who appeared in the 2017 film “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” along with the TV series “Scream Queens” and “Kingdom.” He can be seen this fall on the big screen in “Midway” and a “Jumanji” sequel.
