NLCB paying new tax, says chairman

CHAIRMAN of the National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB) Eustace Nancis has rubbished a “rumour” being shared by former government minister Devant Maharaj that the Board has not been collecting the ten per cent tax on lottery winnings above $1,000 from lottery agents.

The tax was imposed in August last year.

Maharaj alleged in a statement yesterday that by the end of 2018, agents owed the NLCB $14 million.
