Two in custody after shooting attack

Basseterre, St. Kitts, 9th January, 2019 ( – Police have reported that swift action by officers on patrol in St. Paul’s “thwarted an attack by armed Assailants on three young men” on Monday, 7th January, 2019.

According to a release from the Police Force, 22-year-old Calvert Francis, 18-year-old Alvin Browne and a juvenile were sitting on a wall next to Lovers’ Lane Alley, when a can stopped in front of them and two men exited and open fire on them.

Police reported that the three young men ran down Lovers’ Lane Alley and were shot in their legs. It is indicated that the Police on patrol heard the gunfire and were able to intervene and stop the attack by firing on the vehicle that was speeding away.

The release reports that Police gave chase intercepting the vehicle in Christ Church. The wanted men escaped on foot in the process. However, Police reported on Tuesday, 8th January, that two persons have been taken into their custody in relation to the shooting incident.

The car was taken into Police custody for inspection and processing.
