The search begins for the next Carnival Queen

Basseterre, St. Kitts, Tuesday, 14th May, 2019, (MyVueNews.com) – With seven (7) months to go before the staging of the country’s premier cultural festival, National Carnival, the Organizing Committee has officially announced that applications are now being accepted for potential contestants for the various pageants.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 14th May, the National Carnival Committee, for St. Kitts and Nevis, said that registration for the National Carnival Queen Pageant and the National Carnival GQ and Swimsuit Competitions, is now open.

The current title holders are Tawanna Collins, (queen), Kersha Martin, (Swimsuit) and Jonah Valerie (Mr. GQ).

The pageants are usually held in late December and each contest is normally comprised of six contestants or delegates.

The Committee, explained that registration will close on 31st May 31st at 4:00 p.m.

Therefore, all interested persons are asked to register at the Carnival Secretariat on Victoria Road and or more information they can contact them at telephone number 466-0058.

This will be the 48th staging of National Carnival which began in 1971.
