It is therefore important that we live the spirit of Christmas in whatever we do.
In a predominantly Christian society such as ours, it is important that we hold fast to the true meaning of Christmas. The Gospels of Matthew and Luke chronicle the birth of Jesus and reveal the earthly manifestation of God in the flesh. This selfless act of incarnation was based purely on love. God gave us the gift of love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
As John chapter 3, verse 16-17 declares: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” The true meaning of Christmas lies in this wonderful act of love.
We owe it to ourselves to celebrate God’s love in ways that are pleasing to him. Let us help each other, particularly the less fortunate among us.
Finally, as we approach the end of another year, I urge each and every one of us to reflect upon the life that we have lived during the year and give thanks to Almighty God for his tender mercies. Let us recommit ourselves to be a good example to our children.
On behalf of the National Integrity Party, my family, and on my own behalf, I extend Christmas blessings to all of you. May God continue to bless our nation. Merry Christmas!
