Marecia Pemberton made her 2012 indoor debut at the Spire Division 1 Indoor Track and Field Invite in Ohio. She won her heat in 7.49 seconds and later won her final in 7.48 seconds having recovered from a poor start in the final. Marecia is currently the national record holder in this event.

In the finals, he finished in 8th place in a time of 6.91 seconds after sustaining a minor injury.
