The Opening Ceremony is scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. with over 400 delegates and invited guests including party and union officers, members of the diplomatic and consular corps, representatives of the business community and non-governmental organizations in attendance
“Following the address by the Featured Speaker, the Hon. Roosevelt Skerritt, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica and Political Leader of the ruling Dominica Labour Party; 8 mothers representing each of the constituencies in St. Kitts will be honoured. The newly-crowned Miss Labour 2011/2012, Zaiesha Joseph, her runners-up and other contestants will be presented to the Conference delegates,” explained Acting National Secretary Mr. Joseph O’Flaherty Jr.
A highlight of the Conference is the address to invited guests and party supporters by the National Political Party Leader, Prime Minister Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, parliamentary representative for Constituency No. 6.
O’Flaherty said the public session will be followed by the Business Session in the afternoon, attended only by delegates during which the Conference will receive the Report of the National Executive and the Financial Report from the Treasurer.
Resolutions from the National Executive, the 8 branches, Young Labour and Labour Women will be debated and auditors will be elected.
The Conference will also elect officers to a new National Executive before the adjournment.
