Aids/HIV Campaign to be Launched Next Month
The campaign comes as the Caribbean continues to be the second most affected region in the world, (next to Africa), when it comes to AIDS/HIV infection, per capita.
Local officials, have for years, been utilizing various strategies to help sensitize Kittitians and Nevisians about the impact of the disease and ways in which they could avoid being contracted with the deadly virus.
The 2011 campaign is due to be launched here on Friday 4th November and throughout the months of November into December, health officials are expected to continue their awareness exercise, with radio and other interviews planned for local media outlets.
Other events planned so far include a Bus Tour to rural areas of the country, sale of calendars promoting the theme, a night of poetry, a public march, and a National testing Day, scheduled for Wednesday 14 December.
The March, which has become one of the major events over the years, will take place on Friday 2nd December, starting from Greenlands Park.
