American Eagle Buys New Jets from Brazil

In a press release issued here on Friday 25th January, 2013, the resident ambassador Miguel Magalhaes, indicated that the sale took place on Thursday 24th January, when Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, Embraer, sold 47 E-175 jet planes to the US airline carrier.

The jets will be configured in two classes of service, with capacity for 76 passengers.

The order is worth two billion US dollars, said the ambassador.

Embrayer is said to be the World Leader in the jets of 70 to 120 seats, and the third largest aircraft manufacturer behind Boeing and Airbus.

Embraer says its E-Jets family is currently used by around 60 airlines from 40 countries.
