…And the Results Are


The National Carnival Committee made the announcement sometime during midday, 3rd January 2011, naming nine groups and individuals as top winners of the nine different titles. It also named those who came a close second, third and even fourth to the overall winners and the points they all amassed.

The “Road March” title was awarded to King Konris’ “Unstoppable Force” which amassed a total of 25, and with a close 23 points, was Grand Masters “Under the Sea”. Third and fourth positions went to Small Axe’s “Rum Song” and the Nu Vybes Band International’s “Sugar Mas’” with 22 and 15 points respectively.Bankers

The “LARGEST TROUPE” title was awarded to Fhunn Vybes’ “PURPLE YOUR WAY” and the Most Colourful Troupe 2010/2011 troupe was awarded to Banker’s Mas’ Camp’s “Beauty Beneath the Sea”. “Purple Your Way” was second in that category.

With 647.5 points, Phunn Makers’ Paula Heiliger won the “QUEEN OF THE BANDS 2010/2011” title with Banker’s “Beauty Beneath the Sea” coming in second with 551 points.

The “KING OF THE BANDS” winners are: in first position, Inferno’s King of the Ocean with 614.5 points and Phunn Makers’ Jermaine Weekes in second position with 518 points.

infernoThe Troupe of the Year title went to Inferno’s Ship Ahoy, All Aboard, amassing 710 points with Phunn Makers’ De Calypso Legend taking the second position with 683.5 points. Purple Your Way by Fhunn Vybes was third with 658.5 points and in fourth position was Beauty Beneath the Sea by Banker’s Mas’ Camp with 620.5 point.

Mudsunami J’Ouvert won best J’Ouvert Troupe with 149 points and in second and third position were Red Devils with 136 points and LIME X-Treme Bacchanal with 127 points.

Under the Sea and Purple Your Way were tied in fourth position with 78 points.

The Man with the Pail and Potty was awarded the Best Individual J’Ouvert Mas’ Player title with 43 points with A Kyan See Town For VAT & Bill bagging the second position with 37 points.

The Best Awareness Troupe was awarded to the Patriots.

As Sugar Mas’ 2010/2011 festivities come to a close, a bumper crowd is expected to take to the streets of Basseterre for the Last Lap jump up.
