Another arrest in Venezuelan fire

This development will obviously help to ease the concerns of the Venezuelan government, whose President was assured by Prime Minister Denzil Douglas in recent days that every effort was being made to bring those believed to be responsible, to swift justice.

The Criminal Investigation Department of the police is now reporting that they have arrested the woman, Jazil Lewis of Phillip‘s Village for the offence of “unlawfully and maliciously setting fire to a certain building devoted and dedicated to a public use to wit the Venezuelan Embassy” located at Wigley Avenue, Basseterre.

The incident occurred on 5th January 2014 during the early hours of the morning and as early as then they indicated that arson was suspected and that they had found certain pieces of evidence on which their claim was based.

It was only last week that police announced that they had arrested a man, Andrew “Cheeko” Wilson, also of Phillip’s, charging him for the fire.
