Basseterre, Wednesday, 9th June 2020, (MyVue News.com)-The spread of the Coronavirus has reached another private company in St. Kitts, this time the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla Trading & Development Company, TDC.

This was confirmed in a memo sent to Management and Staff, on Wednesday, 9th June 2021.

In that correspondence, TDC’s Chairman, Earle Kelly, reported that “Unfortunately, the company has recorded its first positive COVID-19 case amongst staff.”

As a consequence, our sources have indicated that the company has closed temporarily.

The chairman added, “This case is at TDC Insurance Company Limited, St. Kitts. We are taking all the necessary steps to curtail the spread of the virus in this department and throughout the Group.”

St. Kitts and Nevis in the last 72 hours has suffered a significant increase in its cases, moving swiftly from 94 to 119.

Therefore, according to the TDC Chairman, who got vaccinated in April this year, his Group is reminding employees that their greatest defense against this dreaded virus, is to follow the protocols established and to vaccinate.

In April, TDC organized a special COVID-19 vaccination clinic, with medical experts sharing important information with staff and thereafter making it possible for those willing, to get their jab. First amongst them was the chairman.

“We once again encourage all staff who have not yet taken the vaccine, to do so without delay in an effort to safeguard yourselves, your families, your co-workers and our customers from being affected by the virus,’’ said TDC.

As of Tuesday, 8th June 2021, St. Kitts & Nevis had administered 30,190 doses of the available vaccine.
