Another illegal firearm seized by police

According to a press release issued by the RSCNPF on 6th December, members of the organization conducted a search on that day which led to a 9mm pistol and matching ammunition being found.

 

On Monday 6th December 2010 at approximately 6:45 am police officers from the Special Services Unit, Anti-Gang Unit, Anti-Narcotics Unit and K-9 Unit conducted and intelligence led search in the Taylors Village area and found one 9 mm Rugar pistol and (9) 9mm rounds of ammunition buried outside a fence. The illegal firearm was taken into police custody for further analysis.” 

The most recent find inches the number of illegal firearms removed from the Federation’s streets for the year, to 42. 

The press release makes no mention of anyone being held accountable for the find but informs that investigations are ongoing. 

On 29th November 2010, police reported that on that day, they took into their possession one Kel-tec 9mm pistol, 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition and one round of M-16 ammunition. These items, according to a police report, were found by members of the Special Services Unit (SSU) and the Anti-Gang Unit who executed a search warrant on the premises of Sherlon Cannonier at Neverson Street East, Newtown. 

As a result, Cannonier and five others who were in the house when the items were found, were taken into police custody and charged with gun and ammunition possession.
