At around 7:50pm Thursday night, (28th October), police responded to reports of shooting in the East Basseterre district of Newtown and when the convoy of rapid response vehicles arrived on the scene, they discovered the lifeless body of yet another young resident, in the streets of the community.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Vaughn Henderson, the victim is teenager, Corey Griffin. Henderson confirmed that Phillipís body was discovered on the corner of Pitcairn Street and Mad House Alley.
In a matter of minutes police cordoned off all nearby streets to control the hundreds of onlookers who had gathered to observe what had happened.
Unfortunately, at the time of filing this initial report, the police were still trying to put the pieces of the crime puzzle together, desperately in search of the details about what could possibly be the latest murder case for the year.
We await an official report from local authorities and will provide more details in a subsequent report when the details are confirmed.
This latest killing brings to 19, the number of homicide for 2010.
