Over the weekend local authorities revealed that Everette Ritchen of Newtown was formally charged for the Murder of Steven Connor and Attempted Murder (of his brother) committed on 15th August 2012.
This comes less than one week after two other men Terrence Ritchen and Alford Nisbett were also charged with the same offense.
It was just after 10:00pm on Wednesday 15th August, 2012, when the body of Steven Connor was found on Lewis Lane, New Pond Site, Basseterre, after he and his brother Jerome, were shot while on their way to East Basseterre, travelling from St. Peters. Jerome however, survived though had to be hospitalized for his wounds.
Residents of New Pond Site and some as far as Soho and Market Street in the west, reported hearing multiple gun shots; some of which they said, sounded like machine gun fire.
