Former national player Tamboura “Tamby” Caines of the Ghaut Bucks was handed a two game automatic suspension for verbal abuse of an official.
The suspension was handed down after a reported exchange between Caines and an official. The suspension of Caines was followed by the multiple suspensions of members of the Hitters Basketball Club.
The number of suspensions thus far in the league is almost unprecedented with over 7 being handed down to a number of players and even a senior team official and former SKABA administrator.
According to a statement by President Tobias upon assuming the post of President, one of the top priorities of his new association, is the maintenance of a high level of discipline by players and even officials.
It is unclear whether Ghaut Bucs will file any appeal on behalf of their player.
