A special service of thanksgiving will be hosted in their honour.
Pastor of the church, Lincoln Hazel, indicated that Sanitation Workers Appreciation Day is a day they have reserved annually, to let the sanitation workers of the federation know that the efforts they make in keeping the country clean is of great importance to all residents.
It is an opportunity to show that we appreciate the work they do, even though some people look down on them, said the pastor.
He added that they are seeking assistance from the entire community to chip in to appreciate the workers in a substantial way. He also added that individuals can donate money to the church, as well as gifts, because all the sanitation workers will be awarded with tokens of appreciation.
Hazell went on to mention that he has sent an invitation to each parliamentary representative to attend the service, and he has also invited them to donate a gift to a worker in the area they represent.
Following the service, a special lunch will be served to the workers, including those attached to the Parks and Beaches Unit and Solid Waste workers.
This is the tenth year Pastor Hazel and the Apoplectic Faith Church are hosting such a day.
