The assemblyman, who was representing the Buccoo/Lambeau electoral district in the PNM-controlled Assembly, gave his resignation to Orville London, Chief Secretary of the THA at his (London’s) office on 13th June, 2011. London’s office is located at the THA Administrative Complex at Calder Hall, Scarborough.
Pilgrim reportedly resigned from the secretarial portfolio for “personal reasons” and London has accepted his resignation. This was confirmed by an official of the Office of the Chief Secretary.
Newsday was told that in the interim, London will assume responsibility for the Health and Social Services portfolio. Pilgrim will, however, continue to serve as Assemblyman for the Buccoo/Lambeau district, the official said. London is expected to issue a full statement on the matter today.
