Bankers’ mas camp captures major spoils at Sugar mas 43

In a highly anticipated announcement by Carnival Chairman, Sylvester Anthony on ZIZ Radio, Banker’s troupe swept all the categories they entered this year, with their pieces entitled ‘Sizzling Summer’.

Sweet Sizzling Summer took home the title of ‘Wining Troupe’, comprehensively beating out ‘Deep blue Sea’ by solid SKB and ‘Birds of a feather’ by Fhunn Vybz.

For the first time in the history of Carnival parade there was a tie for second position and the Carnival Chairman, said while announcing the results that both bands will take home equal prize monies for the second spot.

He noted that the tie cannot be broken because there is currently no rule in the carnival book that states how a tie should be broken and as such they would be given the same winnings.

However, the Chairman explained that the rules would be reviewed and possibly changed for future instances.

Both troupes will take home $18,000 whilst Banker’s Mass camp will pocket $25,000.

Banker Troupe retained the Queen of the Band crown with their piece titled ‘St. Kitts and Nevis, My home Land’ grabbing the $5,000 cheque for their efforts beating Firewords by Occassions (Saturday Morning Blast).

They also took home the King of the Band costume with ‘CPL’ and the Most Colourful with ‘Sweet Sizzling Summer’.

Also, Birds of a Feather, but Fhunn Vybz took $2,500 for winning the largest troupe category.

Meanwhile, Mr. Worlds’, popular Soca entry ‘Bottoms in the Road’ copped the Road March title with 577 point taking the top prize of $10,000, they edged  ‘Yes’ by Grand Masters  into second position with a total of 570 points and ‘ follow me ‘ by Nu Vybz , with 196 points.

In the J’ouvert troupe category, Xtreme Generation amassed a total of 151 points beating out Small Axe-Shiggidy Shak which had a total points tally of 105 while GM Addix occupied the third spot with 104 points.

For their winning efforts, Xtreme Generation pocketed $15,000, Small Axe- Shiggidy Shak $11,000 and GM Addix $8,000.

Meanwhile Shefton Blake was adjudged Best Individual for J’ouvert, taking home $1,500.
