The Association said it would like to extend on their own behalf and on behalf of the entire basketball fraternity, deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of the late Delon “DJ” James.
Delon was a former SKABA player having played for various teams including Hitters and most notably with his hometown team, the McKnight Trotters during the 80’s and early 90’s. Delon also served in various capacities on the SKABA Executive and Management team.
“During his playing days Delon was an exciting and talented guard and his exciting play and contribution to local basketball will forever live on the memories of the association and the entire basketball fraternity,” expressed the association in a release.
SKABA President, Romel Tobias, said “I would like to express on behalf of SKABA and my own behalf, deepest sympathies to his family and friends.”
The late Delon James was the Chief Engineer at the Public Works Department at the time of his sudden passing, at the age of 45. He died on Wednesday 15th June, at his home in Mattingley, from a heart attack, said medical officials.
