“I will not performing onstage so I don’t want to mislead my fans because I have not yet been granted a US work permit. So don’t come expecting a Beenie Man performance because at this moment, I am not eligible to perform onstage. However, I am looking forward to appearing at the event because the organisers will be honouring me for my 33 year-long contribution to reggae and dancehall music,” Beenie Man said in the release.
At Sunday’s concert, there will be performances from the likes of Mavado, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, rhythm and blues singer Monica, Tarrus Riley and Machel Montano HD.
