Bishoo and Gabriel in record last wicket stand for West Indies

The pair came together with the home side on 247-9 and posted 52 runs in a brave partnership as West Indies made 299 in their first innings. England closed the rain-affected day on 74-0.

Both recorded their highest Test scores. Left-hander Bishoo hit 30 with five fours off 48 balls to mark a successful return to international cricket. Gabriel made 20 not out with a six and a four – to register his highest score in all first-class cricket.

Earlier in the day, Marlon Samuels continued from his overnight 94 to make 103 – his seventh century in his 100th Test innings. He faced 228 balls and hit 14 boundaries in a high-quality knock thst spanned five hours.

Due to the rain on Wednesday, play will start at 9:45 am on Thursday (8:45 am Jamaica Time).
