Bloody weekend in Trinidad claims seven lives

Police said that those murdered ranged from ages 27 to 41 and that the killings took place mainly along the volatile east-west corridor.

Police said that 26-year-old Kevin Thomas was shot and killed on Friday at a car park but they have no motive for his murder, while 29-year-old Terry Gill was at his Longdenville home with his wife when on investigating a knock on his front door was shot multiple times and killed.

Law enforcement authorities believe that Gill’s murder was drug-related, pointing to several arrests for possession of narcotics.

31-year-old Brent Delcon was shot by an unidentified gunman near his home in Arima, east of here on Saturday, while 41-year-old Marlon Bradshaw was shot and killed during a drive-by.

The police said 23 year Ronald Nurse was stabbed to death after he was confronted outside a bar by a man and on Sunday 27-year-old Sherman Toussaint was shot and killed inj Cocorite, west of here.

Police are also investigating the murder of an unidentified man, who was shot several times on the outskirts of the city.

In recent times, police have linked most of the murders here to gang related activities.
