Police are calling it a homicide. OBSERVER understands Joseph succumbed after multiple gunshot wounds.
Police described it as a “violent death.”
The lawmen are appealing to Jennings residents with any information to contact authorities.
“I want to appeal to the general public, especially those of you living in the Jennings area, who may have seen any vehicle moving back and forth or any suspicious activity,” Police Public Relations Officer Frankie Thomas said, speaking Tuesday on . “When you look at the area, it’s basically a one way in and one way out situation and anything travelling in between there should raise some suspicion.”
A cattle herder and his son found the dead man yesterday, lying face down in bushes near a dirt road leading to Dunnings Dam.
He reportedly had blood on his hands, face and shirt. The Clare Hall resident was wearing blue jeans, a purple shirt and black and white shoes.
Joseph’s killing is the ninth homocide for the year.
