The Jamaican, who was disqualified from the 100m final at the World Championships because of a false start, will be looking to beat Asafa Powell’s world leading time of 9.78 seconds.

The Olympic champion could not be in much better form after he clocked 9.85 seconds in Zagreb on Tuesday.

“I have it within me to run the season’s top time,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to going out there and doing my best so it should be good. I feel great.”

Britain’s world champion Dai Greene will take part in the 400m hurdles and he is expected to seal his place at the top of the standings.

In the men’s 200m, Yohan Blake, who won the 100m in South Korea in Bolt’s absence, is up against fellow countryman Nestor Carter and the USA’s Justin Gatlin.

David Rudisha will be going for a stadium record in the 800m, the current record of 1:44.15 minute being held by Wilson Kipketer, while Sally Pearson is expected to add the Diamond League trophy to her world title in the 100m hurdles.

Ethiopia’s Kenenisa Bekele will be in 10 000m action for the first time since stepping out of the World final – the first defeat over the distance in his career.
