Brooks and Francis take first medals for SKN at 44th CARIFTA Games

FrancisOn day two of the games, Kieshonna Brooks convincingly registered her place in CARIFTA’s history by winning the silver medal in the girls long jump under-18 by jumping 5.72 meters, and likewise, Jermaine Francis garnered the silver in the boys high jump under-18, jumping 2.06 meters.


Ms. Brookes, one of St. Kitts and Nevis’ promising athletic stars, broke nine junior records between January and April of 2014. She is known to participate in the 100 and 400-meter races, as well as the 100 and 400-meter hurdles.

Francis and Brooks have added to the silver medal count of St. Kitts and Nevis by bringing it to 19 in 38 years, with six gold and 28 bronze medals.
