CAIC 56th AGM to be held in St. Kitts on 10th June

President of the CAIC, Mr. Carol Evelyn, told MiyVue.com that the main purpose of the meeting would be to put in place a new executive body which would include the president, secretary and the treasurer. He said these individuals would be the key officers for the CAIC for the ensuing two years.

In speaking about the nomination process, Evelyn explained that a nomination committee is in place which has the responsibility of speaking to persons and finding out from them who are the most suitable persons to be nominated as a candidate for the office of president.

He indicated that following that meeting, the 99th Board of Directors meeting would be held, the purpose of which would be to discuss, chiefly, the establishment of the Caribbean Business Council (CBC) which has been mandated by CARICOM. He further explained that the CAIC is the body which CARICOM has charged with the responsibility of implementing that council.

An opening ceremony will be held prior to the commencement of the AGM and brief remarks will be given by President Evelyn and the featured address will be delivered by Senior Minister with responsibility for Industry and Commerce, Dr. Timothy Harris.

Dr. Harris will also officially declare the proceedings open.
