Cameron plans improved PR, to meet prime minister of Grenada

Cameron indicated also that he would be seeking an early meeting with Prime Minister Keith Mitchell of Grenada, who has special CARICOM responsibilities in relation to West Indies cricket.

“I’m scheduled to go and visit with Prime Minister Mitchell next week, and we are going to sit down and talk about the continued governance challenges,” said Cameron.

The WICB president said he would soon disclose some of what was discussed in the board meeting by making public several documents and reports.

“First out of the box is to really start putting out a lot of the information and even some of the reports that were tabled here today,” Cameron noted.

“From today we will would want to start communicating some more to our public,” he added.

The Jamaican won a second term to head the regional cricket body after defeating favourite and former West Indian cricketer Joel Garner by an 8-4 vote.

The WICB has been saddled with a multi-million-dollar lawsuit imposed by The Board of Control for Cricket in India, when the West Indian cricket team pulled out mid-tour in India because of contract disputes.

In some quarters, Cameron was chided for not properly handling the situation with the players.
