According to recent government release, the Ministry of Education is inviting applications for secondary school teaching positions in the subject areas of English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, French, Spanish, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and Information Technology.

The Ministry has also indicated that the objective is to have these positions filled in time for the new school year, which commences in September this year. Successful applicants therefore must be prepared to commence work from September 1, 2011.

Applicants are required to possess qualifications that include a pass in English Language at CSEC General Proficiency Level and above and at least a first degree in the specific subject area.  A CAPE Associate Degree in Computer Science, Environmental Science, Natural sciences or Mathematics and a Trained Teacher Certificate would be asset.

However interested applicants have until Monday, May 30, 2011 to submit their applications. The Ministry informs that submissions must include a resume or curriculum vitae, the names and addresses of two references and certified copies of certificates.  The applications can be hand-delivered or mailed to The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Information, P.O. Box 333, Church Street, Basseterre, St. Kitts.

While all applicants will be acknowledged, shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further consideration, said the government release.
