Caribbean Health and Education Foundation Launched in Nevis

The theme of the event was: Cooperating to Build Healthier Communities through Health Promotion, Education and training and its mission is to improve health outcomes, form collaborations and advance of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and the wider Caribbean region.

 

Founder of ‘CHEF’ Mr Odell Bussue, added that “there are many complex health challenges in those small states and although policy initiatives and programmes already existed, there are many opportunities available to strengthen them through partnership with regional and international experts”.

Ms Ingrid  Dawkins, Director of (CHEF) said, “it was very important that a forum for local, regional and international policy leaders, health care practioners and the community examine key issues and strategies for improving the needs in HIV/AIDS, diabetes, high blood pressure and a number of other serious diseases being tackled in the OECS region”.

Registered in the United States and in Nevis, CHEF intends to seek non-profit status from other OECS Nations.
