Caribbean Teens now in St. Kitts for this week’s pageant

The one objective of all the visiting delegates is to ensure that the crown does not remain in St. Kitts, as it has for the past three successive years.

The competition will see 11 contestants vying for the coveted title, representing the territories of Anguilla, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Montserrat, St. Maarten, St. Vincent, USVI, Barbados and host nation St. Kitts and Nevis.

This is the 35th year of the contest which was first won by the St. Kitts representative, Patricia Skerritt (now Wilkinson), in 1979.

Since then the pageant has evolved into the number one teenage pageant in the region and perhaps the leader, if not only, regional contest of its nature, worldwide.

There will be some pressure placed on the local representative, Roberitine Webbe, who will be tasked with making it 4 in a row for the home team, following wins in 2011, 2012 and 2013, by the Kittitian delegates.

Appearances will include On Stage Interview, Talent, Evening Wear, and Ambassadorial Speech.

A press conference and welcome cocktail are planned as part of the welcome activities on Sunday, 28th December. Contestants are being hosted at the Sugar Bay Hotel in Frigate Bay.

The show is slated for Tuesday 30th December, at Carnival Village.
