The company has agreed to sponsor two segments of the show slated for later this month.
Chief Pageant Organizer, Derrick V Fraites said he was elated by this overwhelming show of support from AVON/C&C Trading, indicating that it is most fitting that the local representatives have been given an opportunity to select their own brand ambassador.
Fraites explained that it was a chance meeting with the Regional Manager for Avon, Greta Dahl-Keith, earlier this year in June, when they sealed the deal on the sponsorship for the show, and according to Mr Fraites, “the commitment went beyond anything I could wildly imagine.”
In the fanfare segment, to be called Girls just want to have fun – all thirteen representatives will be outfitted in dresses and shoes compliments AVON. Although this segment of the competition will not impact the final score, AVON/C&C Trading Ltd have agreed to provide a sash and a trophy to the contestant who best captures the pride of AVON through her modelling skills.
AVON has also agreed to provide accessories and shoes for the swimwear segment of the show. In this and all other appearances AVON’s beauty products will be used exclusively to make up the contestants.
The contestants however are not the only beneficiaries of the generosity of this sponsorship. Coinciding as it does with Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, AVON, itself a major advocate for breast cancer research has also agreed to provide breast cancer pins in goody bags for the judges and chaperons of the contestants. “We just thought that this was a great way to complete the package, given the time of the year, whilst capitalising on spreading awareness via the potential captive audience at the same time,” said C&C Trading Ltd General Manager, Anne Saunders.
The management and staff of local representatives on St. Kitts & Nevis, C&C Trading Ltd wish to extend best of luck to the pageant organizers. As gold sponsors, they are confident that the success of the show will result in continued partnerships in the coming years.
The Caribbean Tourism Pageant once was a regular feature on the pageant circuit but became dormant since 2003 when the last competition was held in St. Kitts.
