Carnival calendar revealed

According to the Chairman of the National Carnival Committee, Mr. Sylvester Anthony, one of

the main purposes of the launch was to reveal the exciting calendar of events for Sugar Mas 42.

Mr. Anthony further stated that the official opening of Carnival will be on Friday, November 22nd

in the form of a street parade combined with an explosive mix of music, culture and folklore

performances. The venue will be announced in due course.

The Carnival calendar that has been revealed to the general public is filled with a number of

fetes and new activities to celebrate Sugar Mas 42:-

Minister of Health, Social & Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, Hon.

Marcella Liburd gave brief remarks at the launch. “I expect all of us to be involved. I expect us

to join a troupe, attend the shows and encourage your friends and family to attend all of the

events. We heard quite a number of new events and I will like to thank the Committee for

listening to the criticisms and responding by bringing new initiatives”.

More importantly she ended by urging the Nation to have fun but have it responsibly.
