The carnival winner is among 9 other delegates who will be seeking to capture the crown now being worn by Miss Iantavian Queeley of St. Kitts and Nevis. Huggins and Queeley along with the contestants from other participating countries arrived in St. Vincent since Monday 2nd July. They have so far been engaged in various pre show activities, including visits to sponsors, media interviews and rehearsals.
Given the huge success of Iantavian Queeley last year, the 2012 representative Huggins is under much pressure from her fans and other nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis, who are expecting her to retain the crown for her country.
Huggins is remaining calm but yet confident, understanding that it is important for her to try her very best in honour of her country.
The other contestants are from Anguilla, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Miss Carival was first held in 1985 and has become one of the most competitive Caribbean pageants. Organizers have promised that this year’s pageant will be entertaining and exciting. They promise it will be a production with a difference and one affordable to most patrons with entrance fees set at EC$35 and EC$45.00.
