As the National Carnival Committee (NCC) seeks to present all cash and kind prizes to Sugar Mas 41 winners they are mixing the business with pleasure in the true spirit of carnival, said a recent press release.
For the first time ever the prize giving ceremony will be coupled with a band festival featuring Road March champions Small Axe Band, Kollison Band, Nu Vybes Band International, Grand Masters Band, Xcess Band and The Legends Band.
Carnival winners are also expected to grace the stage to perform their winning pieces. Additional musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Ronnie Rascal.
The NCC will be charging a $10 admission fee as they look towards raising funds for Sugar Mas 42. Proceeds from this event will also be donated to a meaningful charity as part of the committee’s effort to give back to the community.
Having been assembled in September 2012, just a few months before Sugar Mas 41, the NCC is extremely proud to have pulled off a successful carnival and is even more pleased to present cash prizes, totaling about $275 000, in such a timely manner.
Committee Chairperson Sylvester Anthony says they expect no complaints this year as service providers will also be paid in full.
He said, “We have been able to raise sufficient money and the government has provided us with the kind of financial support and has responded very promptly. And that is why we are able to pay people and I don’t think you’ve been hearing any complaints.”
The committee would like to thank the government of St. Kitts-Nevis, the sponsors of Sugar Mas 41 and the dedicated volunteers for their kind assistance and cooperation, said the chairman.
