The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club released the names of (Cars), Kevin and Kristian Jeffrey, Chet Singh, Danny Persaud, Afraz Allie and Rameeze Mohamed, while Stephen Vieira, Elliott Vieira, Kevin Persaud and Paul Yearwood as the representatives in the Superbike category.
Meanwhile, Kaieteur Sport had the opportunity on Monday to witness the machines being placed in containers for shipping to the event. Kevin Jeffrey was at the facility where the machines were being placed in the containers and Kaieteur Sport caught up with him for a brief comment about his preparations and his son Kristian, who is the current Caribbean champion.
According to Jeffrey, both cars are in fine mettle, informing that the team of mechanics worked tirelessly over a sustained period to ensure that they are well prepared to represent Guyana with distinction in the season opener.
“The guys are extremely tired, they worked throughout the night to ensure that they cars leave here with most of the work complete,” Jeffrey said.
Also making a comment was recently elected Vice-President Shairaz Mohamed Roshandin, who told this newspaper that even though a few well known drivers such as Andrew King will be absent he still believes that Guyana could still give a good account in Jamaica.
Also missing will be the two new kids on the block in the Superbike category in Nikhil Seereeram and Matthew Vieira, who thrilled the fans during the final leg of the CMRC last November.
