Cayon are Primary School Champions

With consistent performances all through the games, the hard work paid off for Cayon Primary School, but it was not without a strong challenge. Therefore, Cayon found itself tied with the Sandy Point Primary in the count for both Gold and Silver medals. The ultimate winner is usually determined, not by the overall number of medals won, but by the number of Gold medals obtained.

Therefore, in order to break the tie and select a winner, the meet organizers had to turn to the number of Bronze medals won by the two teams. At the end this gave Cayon the edge, having won more in this category.shot-of-the-act

Cayon secured 8 Golds, 7 Silvers and 7 Bronze. Sandy Point on the other hand attained 8 Golds, 7 Silvers but only 2 Bronze, thus being forced into the second position.

The teams occupying third and fourth places were Tucker Clarke with 7 Golds, 4 Silvers and 3 Bronze; Beach Allen with 6 Golds, 3 Silvers and 4 Bronze. Last year’s winner, St. Pauls Primary failed to make it to the top positions, ending in sixth place, behind Dr. William Connor in fifth.

Over 700 students from twenty-one (21) different primary schools on St. Kitts will be participated in the meet, in front of thousands who turned out from various parts of the island to support their favourite teams.
