CBIC Donates Computers to the Bronte Welsh Primary School

The bank recently presented three (3) used computers during a brief presentation at the school.

In presenting the computers, Country Manager and Head of Corporate Banking, Mr. Peter Edmunds stated that the bank was delighted to be a partner with the school in enhancing learning. He added that the bank was committed to the development of its communities and partnering with various institutions in worthwhile ventures.

Mr. Edmunds noted that a donation in education and technology was an investment in the future. He added that the development of young people across the region has always been a key focus of the CIBC First Caribbean Foundation, which was established in 2003 to oversee the bank’s corporate social responsibility program.

Recognizing computers as the gateway to learning, Education Officer, Mrs. Urlene Bloice-Roberts, thanked the CIBC First Caribbean International Bank for coming forward as a responsible corporate citizen to make the donation to the school.

Principal, Mr. Anthony Wiltshire, received the computers and indicated that the donation was indeed timely, as the school had been seeking to acquire computers to enhance its curriculum. He invited other corporate entities in the Federation to come forward and make similar contributions where a need was identified.

The presentation ended with the students of the school expressing their thanks to representatives from CIBC First Caribbean in song.
