CDB to fund climate change resilient infrastructure

Vice President of CDB Patricia McKenzie believes that this sort of financing, provided under the Credit Facility Agreement with the French monetary agency Agence Française de Développement (AFD), will provide long-term resources and will greatly improve mitigation against natural disasters as a result of climate change.

“Caribbean countries are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, with our geographical location leading to high exposure to natural hazards.

“Economic conditions also play a role, as there is a lack of access to long-term resources to finance sustainable climate-related infrastructure projects.

Antigua & Barbuda stands to benefit from a Credit Facility Agreement signed by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) to provide US $33M towards sustainable infrastructure projects in the Caribbean region.
