Jamaicans know how to put on a show and that they did. Donning the colours of the Jamaican Flag, they came out in the thousands to cheer their team, the Tallawahs, who needed their every support and encouragement. It was the extra push that the Tallawahs needed that helped them to eliminate the Zouks with 159 for 1 off 16 overs.

Opening the innings, Walton and Gayle created an excellent partnership. Walton, who was man of the match, scored 76 before he was caught by Roach. Gayle, who was in form, scored 64 not out, but suffered a scare when he was almost caught for 28. Lynn, who also was not out, scored 8 runs off 8 balls.

Santokie, who took the most wickets for the Tallawahs, 2 wickets for 29 runs, spoke to journalists after the game.

“It’s an overall good performance for the team. We started well in the bowling upfront and that was the key. We restricted them to a low total. All in all, the bowlers bowled well. There are still areas we can work on. The captain led from in front and also Chadwick; a brilliant performance from both of them,” Santokie said.

The Barbados Tridents are in first place with 8 points; the St. Lucia Zouks are in second place with 7 points; and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and the Jamaica Tallawahs are tied with 6 points.
