According to Granma, the Venezuelan president was seen off by his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro at Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport.

Upon his arrival in Barinas, Venezuela, Chavez said that medical examinations indicate that he has been recovering very well and he reiterated his decision and commitment to continue working.

“I’m holding on tight to life,” he pointed out.
