Children’s Carnival is Back

The theme for this year’s Children’s Carnival Parade is “St. Kitts and Nevis Culture and future.”

The parade will be divided into 5 zones, which vary depending on the location of the learning institution.

Zone 1 in the parade will represent the ‘Carnival Masquerade’ and will cover the Washington Archibald High School, Tucker Clarke, Beach Allen, Dean Glasford and Irishtown Primary Schools.

Zone 2 will represent ‘Information Technology’ and will feature the Basseterre High School, Dr. William Connor and Bronte Welch Primary Schools.

Zone 3 will feature all schools from Verchilds to Newton Ground and they will represent ‘Soca Music’.

An ‘Agriculture and Science’ group will be represented by the Zone 4 schools that run from Dieppe Bay to Cayon.

Zone 5 will make up of all private schools and returning nationals and will depict ‘Industry and Commerce’.

All interested persons who wish to participate will have to register at the Carnival Secretariat on Victoria Road.

The Children’s Carnival has been re-established as a separate event, after financial and other challenges forced the organizing committee to merge it with the senior Carnival Day Parade, held on New Year’s Day.

The children however, will NOT parade through the streets, only their performance on the big stage in the Sugar Mill will count for the judging purposes.
