Children’s Dance Theatre Alumni in Praise of Company

The Children’s Dance Theatre’s (CDT) 21st Anniversary Dance Recital will pay homage to the hundreds of members, past and present, who over the years have cultivated an unwavering passion for dance in the Federation and preserved the integrity, relevance and artistic merit of the Theatre, according to a spokesperson.

The spokesperson said that a buzz has been created, and momentum has been rising steadily since the much anticipated 10th April 2011 production was announced.    CDT’s alumni have added to the excitement through nostalgic posts on the Theatre’s newly created Face Book Fan Page and other social media outlets.

Ashanti Labega, who is flying in to perform with other alumni wrote, “Happy 21st Anniversary CDT! I am truly blessed to have been part of CDT, and even more proud that my daughter is also a member. Being taught by some of the best dance professionals within the Federation has made me the confident and independent person that I am today.” She expressed many thanks to Ms. Julie Martin, Heidi Slack and Anjanette Poujade whom she described as a great ballet instructor. “The values and skills that I have developed can never be ERASED, only IMPROVED,” said Labega.

Juella Gumbs believes that CDT definitely played a major role in shaping the confident and poised lady she is today. She posted, “Up to this day I’m completed on my posture and I owe it to you!

Alumnus, Alicia Wattley thanked the Theatre for the opportunity to express herself artistically as she “enjoyed every moment of it.”

St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited and Island Soul Entertainment have jumped on board with generous sponsorships.  They now join Ting, Giant Malt, Ginseng Up and Premier Planners with their patronage.  Guest performances by Range, The Fireflies Dance School and The CFBC Dance Ensemble will round out the show and a high level stage production is promised, and as always will be delivered.

“JUST DANCE” will be staged at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium on the grounds of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Financial Complex on Sunday, 10th April 2011 at 5 p.m.
