Country Manager, Mr. G Peter Edmunds, presented the sponsorship cheque to a representative of the home, Mr. Sebastian Mottram.
Mr. Edmunds stated that “CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank was excited to be able to contribute to the community by caring for the needy, through becoming involved in such undertakings, which benefit the less fortunate in St. Kitts.” He added that “the bank was committed to the continuing development of its communities and would seize opportunities like this to give back to worthwhile organizations like the St. Christopher Children’s Home, which provides a refuge for children on the island. “
In receiving the cheque, Mr. Mottram thanked CIBC FirstCaribbean International, “on behalf of the Board, staff and residents of the Home, for the bank’s benevolence and community spirit.”
The Family Walk and Run, which was held on Saturday, 1st October, 2011 is the Home’s major fundraiser, and was designed to foster community involvement in the home’s upkeep. The St. Christopher Children’s Home is a facility that provides shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, and education to children in need. The funds will be used to meet its operating expenses and maintain its vital service to the community.
