The special issue is also in recognition of the country’s recent and successful hosting of the 2011 Commonwealth Games Federation General Assembly, by the National Olympic Committee.
The stamps were handed over to the President of the National Olympic Committee Mr. Alphonso Bridgewater by St. Kitts and Nevis’ Post Master General, Sandra Davaren.
Davaren in a brief comment stated that the stamps are considered as ‘ambassadors’, because they will represent the federation all over the world, promoting our destination.
She said her department is happy to be taking part in this national venture that led to the creation of the stamps.
One set of the stamps depict the 4×100 meters relay team, while the other depicts the Logo used for the Commonwealth Games Assembly in 2011.
The day also saw the presentation of medals to the Federation’s 4X100m Female relay team following their 3rd place finish at the 2010 CAC Games in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, in 2010.
