The six (6) “Rubies” were chosen from 11 Applicants by the same selection process as 2010 based on 30 (thirty) minute interviews conducted over a 2 day period (September 29th and 30th) with members of the National Carnival Queen Pageant Sub-Committee. The six (6) successful contestants were then informed and contracts were signed with the National Carnival Committee prior to revealing their names to the public.
The contestants will be unveiled to the public on Saturday 15 October, 2011 at the launch of National Carnival on Bank Street. This launch marks the beginning of a historic year for the Pageant and the National Carnival Committee and has been dubbed Carnival 40:40 in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of National Carnival.
The National Carnival Queen Pageant Sub Committee is now in full preparation and guarantees that this year’s Pageant will generate as much excitement and camaraderie as generated during the National Queen Pageant held in 2010.
