During recent years, the Rotary Club of Liamuiga has used the occasion of its annual New Year’s Charity Ball to generate the required funds that would be translated into meaningful benefits to the youth and elderly, while also allocating sums for community projects of various types.
The ball is the biggest fundraiser of the club and this year they are hoping to attract about 400 patrons for the event which is scheduled for 31st December, 2013, at Carambola Restaurant on Friars Bay.
Future programs, to which the funds will be placed, include a spelling bee competition, star search, and the annual Christmas hampers that are distributed to the less fortunate.
Members of the group will be heading to various parts of the island on Saturday 21st December to make this year’s presentation of food and other basic supplies to the poor.
The Rotary Club of Liamuiga was founded in 2003.
