Connor: Jonel is the man for Central Basseterre

This comment was made at a public meeting in New Road, constituency #2, where he urged the large crowd to vote for Powell at the upcoming election, pointing out that a breath of fresh air has come to the New Road community.

He described the first-time candidate in the constituency #2 Jonel Powell, as a humble and loving person who would put the constituency first.

“Tonight, New Road, under Team, we are paving a new road tonight … tonight I want to give to you a good man, I want to give you a loving man. A young man, an intelligent man, a man who is very humble. Powell is the man for you in this area here,” Connor said.

According to Connor, no one can fill the shoes of the young dynamic lawyer, who is representing the People’s Action Movement in Central Basseterre.

“He is a man who can talk to you. He is a man who will stand for you. He is a man who you can relate your concerns and problems, and I walk with him yesterday (Saturday) around this very area, and I recognized that people feel so at ease talking to this man. They open their doors, and when they saw him, they smiled,” Connor told supporters.

He reminded the electorates that come election day, when it is called, to be mindful that it is the “hat” which is the party’s symbol on the ballot, and as such, Powell’s name would be near to the symbol, adding that by voting for their candidate they are laying a mark for a better future for themselves.

“Make no mistake, that is what you got to do, because Team Unity is here for you. Team Unity is on the move and nothing can stop us,” he posited.

The newly unveiled candidate described Team Unity leader Dr. Timothy Harris as a great and powerful man who has the dreams and vision to move the country forward.

“He is the man that will take this country from the pits of despair and the pits of desperation and take us to a higher height among nations of nations,” said Connor.

Connor thanked the party’s faithful for the support they have given to him thus far in his campaign.

Connor would be contesting the seat in constituency #6, coming up against Prime Minister Denzil Douglas, while Powell will contest Central Basseterre against incumbent Marcella Liburd.
