During the opening statements in the Los Angeles trial of Smith’s lawyer/boyfriend, Howard Stern and doctors, Sandeep Kapoor and Kristine Eroshevich, the prosecutor told the hearing that the drugs were given, even though they were warned that Ms. Smith was known to be addicted to painkillers.
Prescriptions, using various false names were filled for Ms. Smith by doctors, under the urgings of her boyfriend, according to the prosecutor. While Smith was pregnant, drugs were also approved for her usage.
Amongst the list of drugs cited in court were methadone and dilaudid.
The three however have not been charged with the death of Anna Nicole Smith and they have all entered pleas of not guilty.
